Gloria Gladue, B.A., (Cree Language) MIL Candidate.
Gloria is a fluent Northern Plains Cree (sakȃw nȇhiyaw iskwȇw) speaker from Fort Vermilion, Alberta and has enrolled in the Masters of Indigenous Language Program at the University nuhelot’ine thaiyot’si nistameyimakanak Blue Quills (UnBQ), who is proficient in both SRO and Syllabics. As a teenager, her sister once complained that she was taking a chance in writing her diary/journal in Syllabics.
While taking her B.A. in Cree language, she started working for UnBQ. She currently works for UnBQ tutoring students, translating as requested and editing Cree books. Gloria plans on completing her studies at the University nuhelot’ine thaiyot’si nistameyimakanak Blue Quills and continue working in revitalizing the Cree language.
