Jessie Sylvestre B.ED.,M.ED.
edlánetʹe, si jésí húshye, ejeredésche hotsʹį denesųʹłiné hesłį, Jessie Sylvestre comes from Ejerdésche Buffalo River Dene Nation in northern Saskatchewan, Treaty 10 territory. denesųʹliné is her first language and mother tongue. Being proficient in denesųʹliné has provided her with insights into resilience from an Indigenous perspective that would not otherwise be possible.
She has been an advocate for the preservation, practice, promotion and revitalization of her linguistic heritage through denesųʹliné ways of knowing and being. Her lineage is denesųʹliné, Cree, and Métis, which she is proud to claim.
Currently she is working with UnBQ, developing the Denesųłine Curriculum for a BA Degree/Instructor.
